Dear Fellow Parent,

I don’t blame you. You’re thinking, “come on …how can martial arts teach wholesome values?” Well, I’m here to tell you, in more ways than you can begin to imagine.

My name is James Theros. I’m the owner of one of the most successful martial arts schools in the State. “Level 10 Martial Arts College” right here in Indianapolis.

For over 13 years, I’ve been nurturing children like yours with character building tools found only in Martial Arts. No other sport can match them. In the next few pages, I’m going to tell you how you and your child can sample all of this, and more at no charge.

Watch as your child increases in confidence, energy and spirit. Stand and be dazzled as he becomes unstoppable in his quest for…

  • Greater academic achievement.
  • Unshakable self respect.
  • Increased strength and fitness, in both body and mind

Look at it this way. Your child’s first and biggest challenge comes not from “fighting for his rights on the street,” or “beating up the neighborhood bully.” It comes, instead, from battling more sinister forces. Your child’s own fears and self doubts:

“I’m not as smart as John.”
“I don’t get what my teacher is saying.”
“I wish I was as [strong, pretty, tall] as Sally.”
“Why does Jim keep giving me a bad time?”
“Why can’t I be as popular as Jill?”

The question is, how do you get your child to fight these demons? You know the problem. Your child has a tough time even telling you she’s haunted by them. Never mind how she might conquer them.

Well, the good news is, I have a proven solution. A program that has already worked for over 2,000+ Indianapolis children. A series of lessons your child can learn easier than you think.

I call it, “The Level 10 Attitude.” Let me tell you its secret:

To repeat, Martial Arts are less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting…himself.
double_lines_2.png

His innermost fears. Conquer them, and your child unleashes within himself a powerful, unstoppable force.

A force that gives him the strength to kick down the doors of his own self doubts, A force that opens your child to the exalting power of values.

In other words, when your child uses the discipline of Martial Arts to conquer his fears, he has power to transfer that discipline to all other areas of his life. I know of no other sport that does this better than Martial Arts. (I should know. Remember, I’ve been teaching it for over 15 years.)

But don’t take my word for it. . .

“I recommend sending children to a good martial arts school to increase their focus, to get them to concentrate better, and to gain more self-control"

~World renowned child psychologist
Dr. Ruth Peters (featured on Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America,
CBS Good Morning, NBC's Today, CNN Morning News, and MSNBC.)

"Children reap numerous benefits from martial art training. With progressive training, children become more enthusiastic, optimistic, and self-reliant."
~Dr. Mary Kurian, child development specialist.

"It has been found that girls who train in Taekwondo feel better about themselves physically, personally, and socially."
~Harvard Medical School study.

"Carleton University found that children in martial arts have a lower level of anxiety; an increased sense of responsibility; a decrease in the willingness to take foolish risks; a higher sense of self-esteem; and a higher level of social intelligence."
~ Psychology Today

“Considering the struggles I had previously with their adjustments to being raised by grandmom instead of mom, Level 10 has filled a great void in their little lives and helped me reinforce what I try to teach them.

Felicia just got recommended for the mentoring program at her school for academically talented kids, and I see her doing better in school by leaps and bounds.  She always did pretty well, but the past year, she has just surpassed my expectations.  And Jordan has ADHD, and I cannot believe how he can stop long enough to focus and learn the forms and skill sets.

Unbelievable.

I was worried about him, but he has surprised me to no end.  He is learning a lot better control, and I think it's because he has a reason to want to try harder because he loves the training.  I had never thought of martial arts training as an aid to ADHD, but am finding out that it has made an amazing difference in the hyperactivity.  He is actually settling down long enough at home to focus on practicing his forms and this is a BIG help.
~~Shirley Harris (Grandmother of Felicia, 11 & Jordan, 8)

“Martial Arts was the best thing I ever did for my son. He has more respect for us as parents, gets along better with his brother and takes more pride in his school work.”
Doug Witt, Construction Company Owner, Father of Chase Witt(10), Indianapolis

"I did thorough research into my options before selecting a Martial Arts school for my family to learn at. After exhaustive research, by far, Master Theros’ background and reputation impressed me the most. I found exactly what I was looking for at Level 10 Martial Arts College. It’s been one of the best investments I’ve ever made for my family. I’m a resident of Greenwood myself and I’d say this to anyone else who lives in Greenwood— If you’re concerned about quality, It’s definitely worth the drive and the investment!”
~~Rod Ingalls, Sales Professional  (Father of Jaden, age 6, husband of Darlene). Greenwood

Now, you may be asking, how does all this “values” stuff work? And why does Martial Arts Training manage to do a better job teaching it?

Again, more than any other activity, Martial Arts gives your child the chance to explore her innate powers. She’ll marvel (as you will) as she increases her strength, flexibility endurance, balance, and harmony. Yet this is only the start.

Alright, I get it now, please contact me

In fact, her physical skills act as a foundation for something much more important: the development of her value skills, mental Spiritual and emotional. And not cut off from her physical skills, but intimately connected – even bonded to them.

Like this:

• Courage. Your child finds the courage to move outside of his comfort zone. He wills himself to take on more difficult martial arts techniques and skills. He becomes less afraid of being afraid.

As he does so, he learns that whatever he sows, so he reaps. He learns to blame no one, but himself. He suddenly sees his life as a constant, never-ending journey of life-giving improvement.

In short, with a deep breath, he refuses to become a victim of fate. He puts an armlock on his own destiny.

• Staying power. Your child finds joy in improving her physical stamina. She can walk farther, run longer, practice skills until she gets them right.

In turn, she learns not to give up. She sticks things out. With the help of her teachers, she strives harder, longer to reach her goals. Even if she fails she perseveres. She won’t let her self-doubts get in the way of finding ultimate solutions.

• Honesty. As it has been said, “Where performance is measured, performance improves.” Yet, your child has to first accept where he stands now. That means measuring current strengths. Above all, he learns that to succeed, he can’t fool anyone, especially himself.

This results in a keener focus. He learns to make eye-contact with his teacher (and not just in martial arts.) He pays greater attention to what each teacher says. He knows his place and accepts where he stands.

These are just three of the powerful, energizing values your child will get from the “Level 10” program. In short, you can look forward to your child developing. . .

  • Powerful Self Control. He’ll refuse to give in to negative peer pressure. He’ll have deeper respect for rules.
  • Improved Focus. He’ll learn what’s needed, along with the skill to “zero in” on critical tasks at hand. Normal, yet time-wasting, childhood distractions won’t get in his way.
  • Fearless Self Confidence. Watch as your child finds the courage to open any door life has to offer.
  • Towering Role-Model Teachers. As you might guess, all of this couldn’t have happened unless I had the very best teachers. To make sure I have the very best each of them started as white-belt beginners right here in our school.

Today, they are all martial arts experts – advanced Black Belts, in fact. Many have won awards for their teaching and physical skills.

“Excellent instructors. Friendly instructors. The staff cares about the kids. They want them to learn in and OUT of class.”
~~Tim Sherwood, Janitor, Father of Brandon (8),Indianapolis

Now, I still know what you’re thinking: How can I know for sure the “Level 10” program will work for my child? Will learning to ‘kick, block, and punch’ really work for her? I’ve made it very easy to find out….

That's what I was looking for. Please schedule me a time to speak with you!

"My son, Corbyn has been at Level 10 for about three years. His self confidence has improved greatly. Recently at school he had to list three Leaders who inspired him the most. Corbyn chose Master Theros as # 1. His reasoning was this: "Master Theros knows how to push you to do your best and he believe you can do it.' We feel that Corbyn's time at Level 10 has been a great investment in his future."
~Barbara Fields (mother of Corbyn)- Director of Sylvan Learning Centers

"LTMA has helped me improve my focus in all areas." "Master/Mrs.Theros really care about their students at LTMA."
~Matthew Waterfield

~Dwayne & Michelle Bray

"They strive on excellence and will help you to achieve your goals. they will make it fun at first then help you to be able to defend yourself in a real situation. they point out details that other schools do not and make you earn your rank and feel like you achieved it."
~Jacob Amick

"Level 10 Martial Arts at Thompson Rd and McFarland Rd is terrific. They are working with my grandson and teaching him the important values that will prepare him not only for school, but also for every other aspect of his future. In the short amount of time he has been attending, I have been totally impressed with Debi Theros and the rest of the staff. "
~Donna Stapinski

"I initially had my son join Level 10 Martial Arts in January of 2007 so he could have a positive male role model since his father lives 3 hours away. Just recently, he was diagnosed with ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). When I asked the doctor how I could help my son deal with the ODD the doctor pretty much advised there isn't anything available medicine wise. I told the doctor my son was involved in martial arts and he stated that was one of the best ways to show him how to respect an authority figure. Level 10 Martial Arts provided my son with so much more than I expected. Level 10 Martial Arts has given my son a huge boost in confidence and the knowledge of how to calm himself down when needed. My son has matured so much this year and I give Level 10 Martial Arts most of the credit for it. Thank you Level 10 Martial Arts!"

~BethAnn Weaver

"When I enrolled myself and my two oldest sons in Level 10 Martial Arts, I did it because my oldest son, Rayce (9), needed help with his self confidence, and my middle son, Grant (7), needed help with focus and self control. I signed up because I have always thought that martial arts is pretty cool and good exercise, and at age 42, I wasn't too old to learn. In just 6 months, my wife and I have seen a significant improvement in both my boys. The teachers at Level 10 have noticed as well. An unexpected benefit to learning Tae Kwon Do together is that both boys consider class time as "time with Dad". Tae Kwon Do gives us common ground to connect with each other as we learn together in a family friendly atmosphere. This is a great bonus as finding time to connect with my sons is difficult with my busy work schedule. Many thanks to Level 10 Martial Arts College."
~John Patterson

donavon cloud.pngWhen we were at our wits end about what to do about Donavon's situation, Level 10 became the light at the end of  the tunnel.  Thank you for your support of Donavon and our family.  Donavon really likes to watch the black belts. He is hoping that one day he will become a black belt.”
~~Michelle Cloud- Mother of Donavon (age 9)

Level 10 Martial Arts has been a great experience for my 11yr old son Thomas. He has gained confidence in himself, as well as learned how to control his emotions and channel anger in a healthy manner. Too many times you see young people in trouble and confused.

Level 10 Martial Arts gives children the tools they need to be successful in the world today. Thomas is recommended Black Belt now, and he takes great pride in knowing that when he receives his Black Belt, he has accomplished something that no other person can take from him.

More and more we hear on the news how Martial Arts training has helped someone or saved a life. Level 10 Martial Arts is a hands down wonderful place for the whole family. When you walk through the doors you can feel a sense of warmth, love, respect, and compassion. All attributes needed for survival in the uncertain world.

theresa barr testimonial.pngThomas made the 6th grade soccer team at his school. Two years ago he would have not even tried. For me as a parent that speaks volumes, how Martial Arts helps to mold children into responsible people, willing to take a chance and not afraid to fail, but learning how to try again.
HATS OFF TO LEVEL 10 MARTIALS ART, AND TO MASTER AND MRS. THEROS. "

~Theresa Barr (mother of Thomas, age 12)

"You need nothing more than to meet Master and Mrs. Theros to know you've chosen the right school. The dedication that they and their entire staff exhibit is absolutely unmatched. If you are reading this now and you do not currently attend a martial arts school, you owe it to yourself to visit this school!! "No better staff exists! They are all remarkable instructors and role models!"
~Kari May

"Level 10 has taught me a lot in school and at home. At Level 10 you learn life long lessons and can apply them to your daily life. I am doing so much better with respecting my parents and brother. I focus a whole lot better also. I think Level 10 is very worth well. Level 10 rocks!"
~Allie Clesi

bailey kicks.JPG"The journey began October, 2004, with a coupon and caption that said, we can make a positive influence in your child's life, " Just ask for Debi". We made the call, asked for Debi, and Bailey started her training on 04 November 2004 and has never looked backed. Never once asking, demanding, or just saying I am not going to Martial Arts class this evening.

Maintaining a " never look back attitude " in her personal goal of EARNING her black belt and here recently committing to Mrs. Theros ( Debi ) of continuing her education in Martial Arts
Bailey has demonstrated all the characteristics that I have been teaching and demonstrating all of her young life. As a back up, I now have L10MA, Master & Mrs. Theros ( who Bailey looks to in a role models ).

L10MA staff, who has talked about, given testimonials ( personal and work related ), in the same guidelines that I truly believe that if followed, you will make a positive outlook for this world, and become a success in anything that you put your mind and efforts into. Even though I personally have not benefited from the training and the hard work that Bailey has put forth the past 2 1/2 years, I have indeed benefited watching her grow into the caring, loving, helping and keeping family. friends and peers ahead of herself. I attribute that to her training in the Martial Arts. Thank You."
~Daniel Cockerham

"My 13 year old daughter is a student. She is learning the importance of self control and that working hard to achieve your goals is just as important as actually reaching them. She uses everything she learns at Level 10 Martial Arts to improve at home, at school and in life. It is so important to her that we have given up other activities so she can continue her training and growth. Excellent program with the type of people who not only teach martial arts but live it everyday. The martial arts taught at Level 10 Martial Arts is a life changing experience. You learn respect for your yourself and others. By developing martial arts ethics, you actually learn the fundamentals of life. Hard work with focus will serve you the rest of your life. By pushing yourself to the limits you can achieve your goals. "
~Gary Leaman

"Has really helped our son mature."
~Matt Howell

"It's so much fun at Level 10. Everyday is fun and a challenge at Level 10. I enjoy doing Tae Kwon Do at Level 10. My mom and myself look upon Master and Mrs. Theros with great reverence and respect."
~Kaustav Chaudhuri

"I've been training there for about four years now and I don't regret anything about it. I used to have asthma but not any more. I used to be adhd but not any more. I've learned how to defend myself in life threatening situations and I trust my training with 100% confidence. My black belt test is in December and that's my last day, I just want to leave the school knowing that I gave something back."
~James Masterson

edmonds testimonial.png  "When Rachel came home over 1 1/2 years ago with a postcard from Level 10 to come try out two weeks of class, I wasn't quite sure what to think of her newfound interest and wondered just how long it would last. I actually put her off for a few weeks, but she kept on persisting on trying it out. That was in January of 2006 and my husband and I have seen so many awesome changes in her.

She immediately became hooked to tae-kwon-do and pursued it with such a powerful spirit that we had never seen her exhibit. You see Rachel is a free spirit.....a very free spirit that has always lived life by "Rachel's rules." It was exciting to see her display patience and to follow rules and live up to expectations laid on her. This was definitely the first time she has stuck with something and her excitement grew dramatically the first year with each new step.

As a mother, I feel like I worry less about her being able to "take care" of herself like with bullies . She is very small for her age and that sometimes can make her a target. She however has gained through her training a strong sense of confidence in herself and her capabilities. We did experience a scare that no parent should ever have this past summer with a man that tried to abduct her. She smelled and sensed danger and ran and hid from the man. She hid and stayed quiet until he went away. I'm not so sure she would have handled this situation as well just two years ago. She is still learning to be more responsible and self sufficient. I believe this takes a lot of time.

She has such wonderful support and great friends at Level 10 and it's like a second family for her and the rest of us. I like seeing her interact with different age levels and to have friends of different age levels. That's what life is all about and she's doing life at Level 10. Thanks to everyone for being part of Rachel's and our lives. God Bless. "
~Michelle Edmonds

ely testimonial.png"At a time where many are focused on the "art of fighting", Level 10 Martial Arts College seems be more in line with "the art of peaceful living." This school does not just focus on how to punch and kick (although we are taught very well), but how to be leaders in a society where one could argue that leadership is certainly lacking. Honesty, modesty, loyalty, respect, and self-discipline are at the heart of EVERY lesson. This is a place where anyone can train.

There are programs designed specifically for children, the casual athlete/martial artist, the serious athlete/martial artists, adults, families, and those who just want to learn a
little self defense and stay in shape. My whole family is enrolled and it has only strengthened our family bond. The little ninja program is phenomenal, preparing young people for the world and teaching them safety concepts, confidence, self discipline, self control, and respect, all together with a fun work out. They hardly realize that they are learning! It is not uncommon for my 3 year old to ask when she can go to her next class.

The traditional martial arts atmosphere is also very refreshing. Master Theros' program is creatively designed to address the mind, body, and spirit on every level. Classes always start and end with meditation to address the spirit and the classes are wonderful for mental and physical development. My 9 year old has been training for nearly 2 years. The constant reinforcement of respect and self discipline has without question helped to shape her character and excellence in school.

The leadership training at this organization is also a huge plus for the school with classes that meet biweekly to train specifically for leadership development. Here, students are able to participate in workshops designed to enhance leadership skills inside of, and more importantly, outside of the school. Leadership training is a huge staple in the foundation of LTMA and it shows in the quality of the people who instruct and train there. Another huge benefit of training at LTMA is that throughout the year, Master Theros will bring in special guest instructors and celebrities from around the world. Recently LTMA had the privilege of training with Master Kenny Perez and Master Richard Norton, two men very highly respected in the martial arts and action film community!

These were two truly inspiring experiences that may not have been available elsewhere. With the consistency that comes with having the curriculum divided into semesters and the different programs available from leadership club, to the black belt program, to weapons training, training is always fresh and exciting.

This is a wonderfully innovative organization in the truest sense with awe-inspiring martial artists, but Master Theros' morality training secures its place on the "A List". Moo Do Jung Shin! (Martial Arts Spirit). The commitment to leadership in this martial arts program seems to be unmatched. At a time where many are focused on "the art of fighting" it seems that Level 10 Martial Arts College is more focused on the "art of living" in peace.

With martial arts as the cornerstone of study at this self defense, leadership based academy, it is not difficult to see why many children, adults, and families are growing the college by leaps and bounds. They not only have a strong martial arts curriculum set up in semesters, but there are also leadership programs that meet biweekly to develop leadership and life skills outside of the school and into society.

The youth program is fantastic, where principles such as modesty, honesty, respect, leadership, self discipline, and loyalty, are incorporated into every class. All this, plus a great physical, mental, and spiritual work out. This is an awesome program that has changed my, and my children's lives and I would recommend it to any child, adult, or family who want to receive a great martial arts education in addition to the consistent practice of being better human beings. It is refreshing to know that students are not just there to kick and punch, but instead are able to earn a martial arts education at a "traditional" martial arts school where students meditate before and after class, and and also receive an understanding of the great history of the art. I could go on and on about how great I think this academy is from the "Little Ninja Program", on up to the "Adult Program".

One more inspiring perk is that at special times in the year students have the privilege of training with other renown masters and martial art celebrities from around the world. The school most recently was honored to study with Master Kenny Perez and Master Richard Norton, two men highly respected in the martial arts community around the world and within the film industry as well. With all of these things (and many more), in addition to the martial arts training that one can get from Master Theros' Level 10 Martial Arts College, it is easy to passionately vote for this school as the #1 Martial Arts School in Indiana.
~Shy-Quon Ely

"This is the greatest school in the entire world in my opinion. Its helped to change many people’s lives for the better, and it is an honor to be apart of Level Ten Martial Arts!"

~Aaron Klue

doepker testimonial.png"This is not the first martial arts school our son has attended, but is, by far, the best. At   Level 10, martial arts is not simply a sport, but a life choice. Kicks and punches are not the most important things. Who our son is, as a human being, is as important to Master and Mrs. Theros as it is to us. These two are interested and vested in our child and his future."
~Kara Doepker, mother of Kyle, age 8

"My little brother was a very shy little boy and didn't talk very much. So my parents decided to enroll him in martial arts. After that first class he was smiling so much that we knew that this was the place for him. Now he has high hopes for becoming a black-belt and higher."
~Alexi

"They know their stuff and they also know how to bring out the best in you as an individual. Even as a parent, we are challenged to be the best we can be in our lives, as well as skilled in class."
~Hannah Allen

"Level 10 Martial Arts College has changed my son's life. When Noah started there 2 years ago, he was a very shy, timid 9 year old. He had been bullied in school because he was bigger than most of the kids in his class and was so quiet, the bullies knew they could pick on him. When my husband and I took Noah to Level 10 to check out the school, he didn't even want to be there.

He wanted to go home. Mrs. Theros came over and introduced herself to Noah and when she shook his hand she told him "eyes up". His head snapped up and he looked her in the eye when they shook hands. It was the start of something wonderful. Now, two years later, Noah is ready to promote to a recommended black belt. He has more confidence, pride and talent than I ever knew he could possess. Now he is a child preparing to become a black belt with all the confidence in the world in his abilities. I am so glad we found Level 10 Martial Arts College. All the thanks goes to Master and Mrs. Theros and their wonderful instructors. "  Level 10 Martial Arts College was the best thing that could have happened to Noah. Thank you."
~Carla Pugh

"Master and Mrs. Theros do a wonderful job. They take pride in what they do and they really care about the students."
~Chris Pugh

"Great organization - extremely caring and professional."

~Amy Cummins

"It is the best place to learn more than kicking and punching. they teach morals and discipline. I should know. I am a student."

~Esteban Rodriguez

“I was at a crossroads in my life. I had two paths set before me which I could choose to follow. One of these paths, the easy path to follow, ultimately would lead to either an arrest or death. The other path, the challenging path, has the potential to open up limitless opportunities for myself. Fortunately I chose the more demanding path. In early march of 2007 I decided to join Level 10 Martial Arts College. At first I was weary to join and financially obligate myself to anything. I was more worried about spending my money drinking and carousing.

After my first 2 weeks of class I was hooked and decided to enroll. I took it a step further by starting a second job just to make ends meet and attend level 10. Now I am enrolled and attend regularly. I compare my time at Level 10 as my vacation time throughout the week. Now I always try to give a Level 10 performance in all aspects of my life. I am more focused on the direction my life needs to take. I have set before myself goals, both long-term and short-term. Each goal I have made, impacts my life, whether I am at work, being social, or attending class. It is almost embarrassing to look back and see how different my priorities have become thanks to Level 10 Martial Arts College.

I would rather go out ,drink, party and live for the moment then think about the future. Now I see endless opportunities that are available to me now because of the positive impact Level 10 has made on my life. My self-confidence has grown considerably. My perception of who I am and how I am perceived is positive. In social gatherings I am more confident in myself and am less afraid to take steps I would otherwise avoid. Whether that be taking a stand for what I believe in or even asking a woman out on a date. In my professional life I have made improvements I never thought possible. I had enough confidence in myself to take a stand at my old job and quit. The decision to leave my job was scary and stressful but in the end I see it was the correct choice.

The job I now have has potential to become a managerial position. At Level 10 I find my leadership ability growing and this is exactly what I need, to be successful in all aspects of my life. Focus. Self-discipline. Confidence. Respect. These four words were just words to me nothing more. Now when I see Focus I think of the future and my goals in life. Self-discipline is now a strength where before it was a weakness. My Confidence is no longer hindering my ability to accomplish tasks set before me. I find myself showing and giving respect to others instead of indifference. As well I receive that same respect from others that I give them. Level 10 Martial Arts College has improved my outlook in life in a way that is truly priceless. LTMA inspires its students to strive for improvement. This school is such a confidence boost for the younger children as well. Level Ten Martial Arts College is a school based on real traditions and true ideals."

"Level 10 is a "level" above the rest because of their GENUINE caring and dedication to youth, health, fitness, and family values. It's not about anything else!"
~Amy Vasquez

"You would not believe the difference the staff makes in your child. My daughter was 13 yrs old when she started and very very shy. In 9 months her rank was recommended black belt and was teaching class to the smaller kids. Thank you!"
~Krystal Williams, mother of Megan Williams (college student)

richards testimonial.png"Level 10 provides a well rounded martial arts education. They focus on character building and leadership development, as well as the competitive, artistic, and self-defense aspects of the martial arts. There are many good schools, but far too many are one-dimensional. Not Level 10. They build black belts - from the inside out. "
~Jim Richards, insurance underwriter, father of Nathan, age 17 (began at age 11)

ashley testimonial.png"Our 7 year old son began martial arts in October 2006 and we have seen remarkable to completing tasks and a mindset that he can do anything he sets his mind to. We also like the strong emphasis on respect that Level 10 teaches. I thank Level 10 Martial Arts for encouraging the right values in addition to the physical training. "
~Mindy Ashley (mother of Travis, Age 9)

"Level 10 has made me feel like I have a reason to live. I actually have a goal to make. I've always been an A/B honor roll student and I felt like I would never have anything to do because i was horrible at sports like soccer and basketball. My brother and my sister also do Tae Kwon Do. My brother (12) was actually very over weight and now he's actually getting to lose weight, he does football now too and the exercise has gotten him to lose weight. My little sister(8) used to be really whiny and bratty. Now she has a better time dealing with all of her anger and controls herself better. My family and I really love our interschool competitions that are just with other students. It is such a friendly competition and we can all relax and congratulate each other afterwords. We love having guest instructors come in and teach us a few basics of their styles. Level 10 has made everyone in my family happy with our choice in where to learn."
~Katie Glesing (14)

"I signed my daughter up to give her something to do for the summer and also to help her protect herself. But what we got was so much more. Brittney is demonstrating a determination to finish what she starts. Also her confidence level has really improved. I find she is growing in her desire to achieve more in everything she does. Thank you Level 10, you're the best."
~Hazel Foxworthy

"Our 5-year-old son, Milo, has shown vast improvements in both discipline and coordination since beginning Level 10 just four months ago. We're very proud of his accomplishments and thrilled with Level 10 and their commitment to the kids in the program."
~Alicia Anderson
"Owners are very hands on. Not to mention they are great people."
~Greg Killion, Insurance broker

"Thank you for a great day! There is such a nice change in Troy's whole family because of the kind training at your school. Troy's mother has recommended you to her neighbors and now Troy's great grandmother is telling her friends and neighbors about your great school!! Thank you for all you do for our community and my family. "
~Peggy Alexander

"I joined Level 10 with my two daughters at the beginning of November, 2006. I was 45 years old, my daughters were 12 and 9. I weighed 261 pounds and was horribly out of shape. My daughters took to Tae Kwon Do like ducks to water, while I on the other hand, struggled with balance, coordination, and lack of stamina. I knew if I was going to make it through even the first semester, I was going to have to lose some weight and stick with the program to get in better shape. I changed my diet, starting eating healthy, and gave 100% every time I went to class.

barnes testimonial.pngToday I weigh 185 pounds and feel better than I have in a long time. I couldn't have done it without all of the instructors at Level 10. Now, instead of dreading going to class as I did those first few weeks, I cannot wait to get there and get away from the everyday grind that we adults call our jobs. Level 10 is the perfect place to come and forget about all of that for a little while and improve yourself physically and mentally at the same time! If I can do it, anybody reading this can do it as well! My daughters also benefited physically from Martial Arts training at Level 10, becoming stronger and more physically fit.
But the greatest thing that has happened to them is dramatic increase in self-confidence that they have developed. What were a couple of shy, meek little kids 10 months ago have blossomed into a couple of girls ready to take on the world and all of the challenges that come with it. Their attitudes are better. Their focus and concentration are better. They do better in school. They are more disciplined in everything they do. And, on top of all of that, they are learning how to protect and defend themselves. Who wouldn't want that for their daughters (or sons) in this day and age? The credit goes to the entire staff at Level 10 and their dedication and patience in developing the next generation of Martial Artists. Thanks Master and Mrs. Theros and the entire Level 10 squad of instructors!"

"My wife, Darlene and I were looking for something that we could do as a family activity with our six year old son Jaden. We decided to go watch one of the classes being held at the Level10 Martial Arts College. Needless to say we were immediately impressed with the family friendly atmosphere, professionalism and sincere dedication that the instructors were providing to the students. After we met with Mrs Debi Theros and saw the excitement in our son's eyes we knew that this was the place for us. All three of us enjoy the physical and mental aspects that we are learning and look forward to the day when we become Level10 black belts. "
~Rodney Ingalls

"Excellent physical and mental training from a school that truly cares about personal development. Great web site too!"
~Erin Sparks, web developer, father of Aidan Sparks, Age 8, also in our program

"I love the family oriented atmosphere at your school. My children have learned the true meaning of the martial arts, as taught by Master Theros. Respect, discipline, self -control, and focus. Because of your teaching at Level 10 Martial Arts, both of my children have made A-B Honor Roll for the first time!! Way to go!! Thank you for being a Level 10 Instructor!!"

“We moved out here to Indianapolis about 2 years ago from New Jersey.  Once we were here, though, we needed something for our 5 year old daughter to have as an activity.  So, we shopped around and decided to choose between gymnastics, or martial arts.  We figured that gymnastics might be good for her, but it would be “Her” activity.  Meaning, we would be dropping her off, watching from the bench, and then leaving.  However, if we did martial arts, my wife and I could get out on the mat with her.  We figured that with all of the other craziness that can come up in this modern life we have, a good family activity would be healthy for us, not only physically, but emotionally.  We would have something that we could discuss at dinner and ALL understand.

When we first went into Level 10 Martial Arts, we met with Mrs. Debi Theros and got to see one of the advanced level classes in action.  We liked how they performed their forms and moves.  We were also surprised at how the instructor, Mr. Powers, presided over the class.  For some reason, maybe a memory from “The Karate Kid,” I had envisioned a harsh, yelling, drill sergeant constantly pushing the students to perform better no matter how hard they tried.  What we saw was possibly the farthest thing from that.  Not only was Mr. Powers encouraging the class, but as they worked through their drills, he walked to each and every student paying compliments and offering suggestions with any criticisms. I was amazed at how positively the class was run.  I could see in each student that they wanted to give their best at every chance they had.

As we were signing up, we asked if we would be in the same class as our daughter.  Mrs. Theros told us, “Yes, and no.  Students are in a class based on their rank, beginners with beginners, etc.  However, when it comes time to work on self-defense, or other exercises that would be inappropriate for different ages or sizes, you will be put with someone your own size.”  I thought that was really great.  I would not have to worry about being paired up with some small child during sparring drills.  I would be with someone my own size instead.  Keep in mind though, it means that my wife and I get paired up too.  Sometimes I let her beat up on me.  Other times, I don’t get a choice.

The family friendly atmosphere at Level 10 Martial Arts is most likely the main reason why we joined.  Kids are treated with respect, and not berated.  Good behaviors are encouraged and positively enforced.  Bad behaviors are pointed out to the individual student, and that student is shown ways to correct their behaviors.  Master James Theros is a proud parent himself.  His kids are also in classes, but he regards every student as one of his “kids” and he wants us all to succeed.  He ends each class with some words of wisdom, and speaks about ways to overcome the challenges that life sets before us.  I was not surprised to learn that he is unabashedly Christian.  He does not preach scripture, but he does relate real world wisdom, and encourages spiritual growth.

We have been involved with Level 10 Martial Arts for over a year and a half now.  We have grown as people and as leaders.  One of the levels of membership is the Gold Team.  This is a Leadership Development Program.  It not only includes access to more classes and opportunities, but you are expected to be an example and leader both in and out of class.  There are some classes where we are watching videos about becoming a leader.  Other times we may be in a seminar with a full class discussion.   And then, there are times when we lead the warm up exercises for a class.  Both my wife and I have joined the Gold Team; which is only joinable by being recommended by other Gold Team members.  I was also nominated for Master’s Level training that includes Kung Fu training.  Kung Fu is a very art difficult to learn, but graceful and beautiful.  I am proud to be a part of it.

Since joining we have also participated in numerous tournaments.  We thought that we would not be able to participate until we were Black Belts, or at least Advanced Level.  But, no, we were encouraged to enter every tournament we could.  Not ordered, not pushed, not guilted, but encouraged.  We have done a lot better than we thought we would, and we look forward to every tournament that we can go to.

As a family, we thoroughly enjoy participating in class, and are glad we joined.  I’m hoping that someone reads our testimonials presented here, and comes by to check out a class.  I’m sure they will be as anxious to join as we were.  Enjoy! “

I have a story about Coner I want to share with you. I know you are busy so I will try to be brief.

A couple of weeks ago Coner told us about an incident with a new boy in our neighborhood. As he and a couple of other kids were trying to get on the buss the new boy put his leg across the isle to the other seat to block Coner from going past. Coner asked him to move it and the boy ignored him. Coner jumped over his leg and went on about his business. The next day the same situation arose but this time after the boy ignored Coner’s request, Coner told him that if he did not remove his leg that he was going to hurt it.

The boy continued to ignore him so Coner put his foot on the boy’s knee and started to apply pressure. In Coner’s words “I didn’t hardly push at all and he started screaming “OUCH” and pulled his leg back”. Needles to say he has had no further problems with this boy since. We don’t feel this was the “best way” for him handle the situation but this is the first time Coner has stood up to anyone bullying him and we are very excited about that. We could see the pride in his eyes while he told us the story.

We want to thank you and all the Instructors that have worked so hard with him, his confidence in himself has improved dramatically since he started training at your school. Thank you for all you do.
